How much do members feed ?

i give mine a bake bean tin full works out as 1 an 1/2 ozs per bird thats for 10 birds exercise 1 hour morning half hour at night dont see them until they are ready to drop back in i use a tin with a few nails in to get them in a few shakes and saying come on and they straight onto sputnik then drop in

thats what i use works a treat and i also use a doorbell to get the y/b in and say come on to the o/b

are members feeding once a day or twice a day now racings over and its getting dark earlier ? went to local corn shop yesterday and hes gone away to dublin for a week....... wouldnt mind, his corns crap but no other choice as no one else sells it in leeds.....so ill have to go to crowthers in wakefield and buy a few bags at a time to make the journey worth it.

cant belive that no one in leeds sells corn..... thats given me an idea.....lol, might start selling it

hi ray, theres a lot of pigeon men in leeds so if i cant get it without travelling to wakefield neither can they......some ive spoke to never go to the one in leeds where i usually go anyway.....

we travel to cannock which is about 50 miles but we do buy in bulk the corn shop locally only stocks a few bags of bamfords

hi sue, yes thats what i intend doing......the local "pigeon shop" sells absolute rubbish, everything else is ok but corn ? no, forget it........

thats like ours for dogs and cat there perfect pigeon stuff is so limited

my local sells everything yo could want for pigeons (doesnt sell anything else) you can get nest boxes,baskets, grit and minerals (matrix which i love) all sorts of vitamins and treatments......but its just the corn, £10 a bag ans utter crap. dont mind paying for decent stuff but come racing i cant feed them on that.....

yes got to get some good corn through the race season no cutting corners
and giving them crap food

do you feed the old uns and ybs on the same corn sue, or give different ?

all the same now but when racing i give different

what would it be ? widowhood and standard yb mix......

i use widowhood and super diet for o/b and the y/b i start off with y/b mix and then 50/50 yb mix/widowhood then get them on to the same as ob seemed to of worked for me david

David do you feed any brand or do you stick to one eg Versele-laga / Natural or do you mix your own up?

hi amanda, at one point they had versele-laga which i was happy with, but over the last 10 months it is just rubbish either in a white bag or see through plastic with no name.....never used so crap corn so amm going tommorrow to crowthers and buying a few bags to last me a while....

Hi David the price of corn is disgusting. But im told of a place in Co Durham that sells all the big brands at a decent price. When i lived in Worcester i always went to Cosworth stud feeds. The prices where great and Mark was always most helpful. Dont get me wrong he made a profit but he never screwed his customers over.
And always had a coffee
In the early days of my involvment with pigeons, but after my dad had died. He was always happy to give advice, could have sold me loads of stuff and i would have brought it, but not Mark he always kept me right and didnt rob me blind.
There are some decent corn merchants out there.

yes amanda its true there will be, umfortunatley not in leeds.........only been to crowthers once before so dont know them, altho the stock they carry is amazing....i could spend all day there....

went to crowthers yesterday, got 2 25kg bags of winter/resting mix.......seems nice stuf and only £7 a bag.....was going to et 2 bags of breeding mix but didnt know what was any good......what do members use for their breeding mix ?
