IRPC Season 2022 Race 6

looks like the pigeons had a tough time, hope you got good returns. Was it a head wind?

Yes, it was tough race. It was cloudy for halfway, rest was clear sunny. No wind on way. We sent 213 Pigeons and only 87 returned till sunset
For me , seniors are still missing,those who flew 750km last year. Youngsters returned
Looks like i will fly 650 and 820km race with yearlings

Sorry you had a bad race tranveer, it happens to all fanciers and we never know why.

Just hope you have more returned.

Most yearlings win our races, most clapped out by wrong treatment by the two year old stage.

Even the distance races and nationals are won mainly by yearlings.

If you won every time you would have nothing to aim for and half the enjoyment gone.

Most have been there I suspect at some stage type of thing Tanveer & as bad as it may first appear never feel with what your feeling there with your race outcome your on your own type of thing. Win     loose or draw we still love you here & the sun hopefully will still rise in the East again (Putin excluded) as normal tomorrow & then set in the West as such     Always appreciate those that make it I say, when you get a stiff one but don't always condemn those that don't, as I've found some times we can give them a burden unfortunately too hard to bare I'm   when the conditions appear out of the blue at times against them as such. Now could I maybe perhaps suggest your looking at the wrong thing there Forget all about what year is on your pigeons legs look at your pigeons as if they are all the same maybe as I know for a fact here over many years a 6 month old baby, or even less if good enough can fly the type of distances your hoping to fly there if things become desperate in the numbers game & many of them also if honest     if not most     can do it with only one simple feed a day. Final words     tell you know who there     the hawk here     again says, well done etc.  

As now pigeons flew 8hours on wing, for upcoming race on 14/Mar, what should be loft flying routine ?Do they need daily loft flying/or Force flying or loft exercise is not necessary now ? or just free lofting on their will

As said previously tanveer always had open hole and after a hard race the pigeons would take their own time to recover, just as a human would.

When you fasten them up for most of the time it is a different and think harder proposition.

If it was me I would give them open loft for a couple of weeks to fully recover and then go back to what worked for you previously.

Would not touch any get well remedies, the only healthy way is by letting nature take it's course and the pigeons recover naturally.

Suggest maybe Tanveer not much to be gained there now using the peas under glass type scenario & the forced flying trick etc. Numbers dropping, distance increasing & days turning into long ones for your birds there on average for the most part. The more love you can give them there now & kindness would be my general way forward     Putin     excluded.

as knackered says tanveer ,plenty care and rest for the birds and let them do as they please,great to hear more have returned for you all the best for the next race
