| Jeremy Davies 1 d · Good afternoon The training went pretty well this morning into a moderate head wind. I have pencilled in Hot Spot 3 for Weymouth on the south coast a distance of 95 miles but this is provisional depending on the latest forecast on Sunday morning. I will update midday on Sunday with my decision on if we are racing Monday. Jeremy.. |

| they will race into cornwall next so them ybs are not on the correct line ,the line they are racing is for the channel races ie guernsey ,there is the chance they may go isle of wight which would be far bettter for the ybs given the line they have been raced on |

yes george we entered the midland national one loft, i think it was the first one they did a few years ago ......our bird was bred by darren /oldstrain and he came 30th in the final from over the channel (as a young bird) i bought the bird back, but there was some skullduggery going on with selling the birds ...... |

| sounds like the rpra too george, strange how 1,500 enter, and 750 get to the first hot spot, either mad management, bad luck or purposely reducing numbers ...... |

Certainly hope not George would be interesting to know thou I suggest what actually does happen to many of them there sadly, when many don't even make it to the first toss type of thing. With so mamy pigeons involved from so many different lofts the possibility that initially there is a widespread outbreak of diseases is probable. The pigeons today are dependant on medication to a greater degree than at any time previously. To sort out health problems involving so many pigeons is no easy task. Many fanciers find it hard to keep a handful healthy. Read in the Old book barnie provided, the more liberty a pigeon has the less problems, health and otherwise. The OL birds are kept in 80% of the time giving ideal conditions for problems. If you flock treat you may be harming healthy pigeons as well as curing the ill. The biggest issue as far as I can see is that no explanation is given for any of the losses, which I feel fanciers are entitled to. I actualy feel no one can look after so many pigeons and give an equal chance to all. Regards. |

| in the mnfc olr the loft manager if my memory recalls was there race conveyor and due to a long holdover i think 9 days he was away and a young lad was left in charge they did refund entrance fee to those that got back from the final i thought we all should have had our money refunded |

| I don't know if they have a vet at hand with regular visits, or if it's a case of treat the lot for everything programme of medication in place? I think the one lofts are running out of steam, few years ago they were fully booked months in advance but some have now folded and others seem to having to advertise more often to fill the perches. That won't worry the winners though, always the lure of big £££Money. |

| Think that is part of the problem barnie, no one knows anything about what actually happens once you drop your birds off.
