Perhaps how the sales go will indicate if the sport is in as bad a state as it appears.

Just hope the increase in the cost of living does not have too much detrimental effect.

Although we had certain problems when I was a kid, would gladly go back to those times.

Regards.

Is there only 60 left from the original intake?.

Think the winner will be bought in and the owner have a go at the yearling event.

Gets half the price back and will be only a drop of the winnings.

Think everything is at the cross roads at this time and people in general do not
know if they are comming or going, our set of idiots running the country certainly
have lost their way, shoud have left Borris alone.

Regards.

Think the pictures have been a rush job.

Surely those who entered the event must believe their pigeons are worth more than £30 and buy them back.

Good point never thought of that.

More than the pigeons apparent value in some cases.

If I was starting again I would buy 24 young birds of one family, have open loft, let them pair up, race them all and the best would become the stock birds, would have no prisoner stock birds.

In fact that is what I did second time round.

Did introduce sevaral young birds after a while for new blood but dispose of them after a while.

Regards.

Can understad his present regard for the sport David but he still has plenty of petrol in the tank and may have regrets, but afraid many others who have seen some of the best days in the sport may become disenchanted with it in it's present state.

Good luck to him anyway.

Regards.

in olr sale only 4 birds have received bids think £30 + 55 courier £85 is far too much after the first 10 birds what happens to unsold birds do you have to take them back there should have been no reserve this was there first year i was going to send along with dev but we changed our minds

i think with the price increase in corn, and the demise of walkers courier, plus the cost of other couriers buying pigeons wont be top of peoples list,

plus with the price increase of every day living fanciers might not want to spend money on buying more birds ....... No No

i think the courier costs have harmed the pigeon hobby, not many want to pay £55 + for 1 bird transported .
