Problem is even the best fanciers breed as many duds as other fanciers pro rata to those bred, so it is a lottery. Regards. |

| Totally agree misty . It's just money for next season to pay their bills . Not like us who have to work hard to pay ours . They would pack in half of them if they had to pay like we do . I bet these average 10 plus on sales alone easily

Think the bubble is about to burst, far too many clearance sales by fanciers one would think had many more years in the sport.
Make me sick the likes of the Staddons, more sales than the ice cream men/women at a children's party and they objected to all the proposals I put forward to improve the sport in the 70s.

| im wondering if its a good idea to breed my usual amount of ybs this year, i know walkers are back collecting / delivering so thats not a problem.....but im wondering if people will be able to afford to buy them, they might not have spare money when they are paying the gas/electricity , food prices .....buying pigeons might be bottom of their list of priorities . then i`ll get stuck with a load of young birds i dont want .......... |

| Try advertising them in kits of 6 or 12 David, money up front before you breed them maybe? Then you know how many to breed in advance. |

| Bit dodgy at the moment David, would breed a few early ones and see how matters are.
Cannot see anyone paying in advance.
You can see many reasonably bred pigeons getting no bids at the moment.
You can also see many good fanciers packing in.
As you say the last thing you want is a loft full of young ones left on your hands.
If left with a team David, GET EM RACED.
Regards.

| Plus bird flu will impact on pigeon sales too. If racing is delayed or suspended next year fanciers won't want so many YBirds if they aren't getting their old bird team raced. Market reaching saturation , like misty says some long term fanciers calling it a day. |

i usually try to sell them on elimar in minimum groups of 6 colin, or in multiple groups of 6 if i can at the same time .....if i cant i then try to make up groups of more than 6 , ie 7 or 8 to make it worth while for the buyer to pay carriage. elimar is the only place i sell them colin, anything else is too risky i think, as we know the pigeon world is full of scammers, crooks and con men . |

| in BHW this week lots of prize presentations and well done to them all then you look at the auctions and think if they win every thing they say there can't be much left for the fanciers to win |

| I think a lot of the Ali pigeons will end up staying in the NE, fanciers know how good these are. |

Even the very best fanciers have their share of rubbish and none sell their good ones knowingly. Many use the dubious to pay for all their costs and probably a Winter holiday' Regards. |

| They all have rubbish like the rest of us . They all can't win or breed . Nice pedigree s but it's the baskets that counts . These top flyers are cashing in now whilst they can and don't forget one or 2 good sales pays for their season easily |

| someone told me years ago that most pigeons are crap, and ive always been inclined to believe him .......
when you consider how many ybs are bred and how many win / take top cards or do well its a fairly small percentage . |

| Don't get me wrong Fantastic flyers and you only get to the top with hard work , good birds and all that but remember some of us try just as hard as they do but like us we haven't the contacts these top flyers have , swapping ybs , stock birds and ideas . But we keep trying as love nothing better beating them and see them fall lol |
