| Truth being George that many fanciers are reducing the numbers due to the uncertainty involved in our sport at the moment.
An indication of the state of play is the Massarella auction site, along with the offers of stock birds, hundreds of pounds knocked of the original asking price, and no offers on many of the auction ones, and these are all well bred pigeons.
Wish I was just starting up and the sport was as it was 70 years ago.
Regards.

| Thought I had replied regarding club memberships.
Would never have believed there would be clubs with three or less members who have to go to other clubs to mark their birds.
There will have to be some real changes if the sport is to survive.
Smaller transporters for a start.
Less emphasis on prize money.
Maybe have six bird clubs etc;
Emphasis on the grass root fanciers and not the money mad.
One main problem is the uncertainty at the present time fanciers are being wary of possible events and reluctant to undertake what they normally would.
Think the coming season will determine what many fanciers will do.
Regards.

| Met a local fancier this morning and we compared 60 years ago to today, both of us old fogies.
Used to be four clubs within our area none without good double figure memberships although some had dual membership.
We had a paid for club house with flat on top and club below, rented out the flat.
Now one club, with around 6 active members club house sold and back to square one.
Cannot think of one other sport that has been let disintergrate to that extent.
But then, we are talking RPRA.
Regards. |

You might well be right George. Kids hardly out of nappies open to every kind of undesirable information possible. Well on the way to Armageddon. Regards. |
