Leeds and District Amalgamation

just been watching Ali bros been very bad result for them

i havnt watched them for a while george, i usually find that when a fancier is flying well and winning, they tend to let everyone know about it bragging ....yet if they do crap you never hear from them .

looks like worse crap yet

last time i looked it seems only 5 birds were listed on the leeds amal group ......did no one else clock in, i know our club are doing the clocks tonight

in bicc national well known fancier sent 80 and was ot o he list

Appears to have been a difficult race but well done to those in the hunt.

Good split up of fanciers.

Nice to see some racing but the low numbers a bit of a let down.

Not the weather to have pigeons on transporters and flying in the hot weather.

exactly misty........was a holdover too

think more thought will need to go into holding a race rather than a holdover in very hot weather

they originally said they would hold over until monday due to weather, next 10 mins later they let them go ......there were a few fanciers not happy by the comments i read .

thing is, they dont really care about the pigeons, they want to get home asap , plus because members pay birdage in advance for the season its nothing to them if everyone looses their birds, they have already been paid .

Bit harsh in general there maybe with that comment I suggest David     If those making the decisions to release are not taking the welfare of the pigeons into consideration as their main focus, they shouldn't be there doing what they are doing type thing I suggest.

Problem we have is getting drivers, who wants to be stuck in a field in a cramped cab all weekend? Plus this isn't their main job they got to be home for their regular jobs come monday morning. I think lack of drivers will be major issue of things collapsing above pigeon politics, hawks, bird flu etc

All up front here George Every man & his dog forking out 400 odd dollars down here this weekend to fly the whole season of 20 odd races if they can. Seen blokes pay up big time here & then gone       in 4/5 weeks, sadly. End of the day though, on average a great believer in an up front type payment to cover general running costs in a racing type scenario.

some clubs still do down here Misty local club  (spitting distance) had 800 odd last week here.

dont ask me who won it, all i can make out is someone called kevin .......

Kevin Pafreyman I think took first three positions.

Good flying but this year has been a nightmare for many fanciers.

Hope young birds get a better chance.
