| Have you decided how many pigeons you want to keep George ?.
More to the point what do you intend doing with the young ones ?.
The OLs are proving to be an unreliable test and I hope the fancier testing some this year does well.
But you have to have a plan.
Regards.

Would think that it was inevitable for the carriers to have problems at times numerous things that can go wrong and no fault of the carrier. Regards. |

No idea how to take photographs George must be very awkward to do it on your own but very clearly shows the dark circle. However tis only part of the theory and the iris, pupil and outer circle complete the picture, you need all to be good to be called a good eye. Look forward to seeing it when you have some help. Regards. |

| thats a good holder george, is it one for vaccinating ...?
the circle on that eye is wide, its like a car tyre .... i have a red hen with a very similar eye, she won 1st in an eye sign show a couple of years ago, she also bred two young birds to win £520 racing as young birds , her own father won 10 firsts racing . |

| Think it was a fancier called May who wrote the first book on eye sign, not very big but with pictures etc. in it. He put great emphasis on the black circle the width of which the wider the better. However, never seen a pigeon with a black circle win in a eye sign show for many years. The whole theory changed after fanciers who were interested studied other aspects of the eye. Look at the present day best performance pigeons. That does not mean all pigeons with black circles are dummies just that there are their fair share of dummies amongst them. Regards. |

I have always been more interested in the pigeons racing and breeding ability and have found eye sign runs in families and some of the dummies have the best eye sign. You need pigeons that have all the best qualities in one package and they are few and far between. Every pigeon George has a circle and the best is thought to be violet by most enthusiasts. Have won many eye sign shows and also judged them George. Sat up till after midnight with the late Skarthi and the late Albert Whitty taliking eyesign in front of a log fire in the late Pete Rogers house. Too many theories best bet the basket. Rgards. |
