Would be a fair old test George and having one in the final would be great. No doubt the fancier you obtained your pigeons from is a genuine fancier. Does he also enter the yearling races ?. If it gives you pleasure George tis all that matters and nothing to do with anyone else. But just entering a OL race means your whole efforts could be over before the first training toss There are no real checks made at any stage by an independent fancier all is done on trust. You need a means of having your young ones tested in racing every week. Something sadly wrong when pigeons are lost from 5 miles. Best bet would be if a good fancier who does his/her share of winning would test your youngsters the same as his/her own, you could offer to pay their way. Alternatively and possibly the very best solution for you. Put them into the auction like David does. You find a good home for them and with a bit of luck some feed back. They will definately be tested on the road in a proper manner and that is what you need. Regards. . |

| what they have started doing at our club, is enter birds into the breeder buyer, and the buyer can bid on the young bird and give it to another member to race for him... |

| good luck george, well done darren.
Get them tried out, pair feeders at same time, float eggs first 2 rounds, let the pair rear the 3rd round for yourself. Just my way but as long as you get the enjoyment and satisfaction that's all that matters first and foremost pal. |

The more he can deal with George, the better, but his loft space will be the determining factor. Just hope he can manage a few. Any surplus put on the auction pay for the corn etc; and anyone buying them will certainly race them . No good having old pigeons sat in the loft and not breeding, unless an old favourite etc; Hope it all works out well. Regards. |

Join the club, the only time anyone knows is if it wins or breeds winners. Better chance if from a long line of up to date that have bred both winners and breeders of winners. Every fancier has fads regarding a good pigeon but only the basket proves if they are right. Just look at all the pigeons that have bred and won themselves, every shape and size. Just get some healthy well bred pigeons and sort the wheat from the chaff no need to make it complicated. Best of luck. Regards. |

My first consideration and possibly the last, why on earth would any fancier want to part with it ????????????????????. Regards. |

experience of keeping them and racing them is the only way john in my opinion, try get birds from a fancier who is doing well racing them, i wouldnt go too much on grand parents g/grandparents performances or pedigrees ......an up to date winning family and fancier is the best place ...."in my opinion" |
