no idea george, ive had birds that were ill and they didnt moult, but once they were well again they started moulting .......

had the hen been un well ...?

it would not bother me too much ,its got colder considerably this last 48 hours and the main thing is that the hen comes through the moult ...it wont be a health issue because she has suddenly dropped alot of feathers some just moult heavier than others ,conditioner and a good mix of feed and of course grit/minerals is all that is required for me

got hen and a 12 year old cock both just gone in the moult nether have bred this year

If the feed is right George would not worry nature know best, would only worry if it broke down.

Age can have an effect but then it does on everything.

i wouldnt worry over it george as long as they are in good health ....

ive always been of the opinion ill pigeons do not moult .

Senseless Smile Smile even worrying about such a thing etc Very Happy Very Happy I say.  Pigeons are just like humans I suggest Wink Wink all different in how we go about doing things on average. End of the day Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes what's a few feathers here or there bounce bounce when looking at the likes of Russia  Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad & the Israel situation etc. cheers

i think most of mine have more or less finished moulting, the cocks especially .....all have full bars and look tidy .......
