Just got in some Sootjens "601" ,"689", Mushy Peas and Docherty cock lines any one else got them and if so are they better crossed or pure? Seems to be people doing well with crossed at the moment.

that would give a better result really ray, i dont think they can be fully tested with only a couple off a certtain pair.....but wether members would go for that idea i dont really know as they will want their own proven teams rather than testing someone elses birds maybe........... scratch

Very Happy

David i think it is Andy Stokes of Stokes Bros and Son, they are good fanciers and know there pigeons Trevor Williams of Williams Bros and Sons works for them also

If you look in the Black Country Notes you will see them in the results more times than not

As you can see fanciers looking after pigeons and not the other way round

First saw the sootjens in 1987 at the NEC they were being shown by Terry Lodge of Top Lofts UK

Terry had late bred youngsters on show and they were all blues and to look at them they were like street pigeons, when asking Terry about them he informed me that they were the sprint machines of Belguim and were better than Felix Pauwels who at that times was the number 1 in belguim

Also he did say that once they moulted out the would look a different pigeon, Terry had 2 baskets of them and he was only there for just over an hour when a fancier brought the lot of him that saturday and of Terry went with a big grin on his face
