Newark open race today..........

sent 17 birds to a newark open race 56 miles, so far got 14 back so 3 still missing........ended up 5 mins behind the winner but happy enough considering its their first race, plus where my loft is situated isnt a favourable position as thre birds will drag mine away from my loft............... as it happened tho i got 4 come together from the back of my loft so i knew they had gone past and worked their way back home, second bird i clocked was the cock i got from ian in the yb exchange......

they will come better next week..........

hi rene, yes i thought they had done well too considering its the furthest they have flown and also they have got some experience of being in a race pannier and liberated with a few hundred birds.......the other members race from newark every sunday and also club racing and are good flyers, so im happy with how my novices have done.....

Well done David you will be up with them before you no it keep it up the birds I mean

thanks ginger, dont think ill have much chance of beating them but its all experience for when i send them in my own club......which should be better for me as we are all within the same radius.

thats true ginger, ill keep sending them for the next week or so but hoping to jump them into the club racing but the distance now is up to 130 ish miles, so wonder if jumping them to coast is too much with only 2 or 3 newarks behind them.....?
