Hi all whats everyone's views on training yearlings? We have a few young uns which due to the poor weather have yet to go in a training toss does anyone keep them back and just train them up or do you think they must get a few tosses in as babies?

personally i think its best to get at least some training done as ybs, teaches them about being in the basket and also about being liberated and coming out of the pannier etc. Razz

It is always best to get a few training tosses in them the year they are born so they know what the basket is for, even placing them in the basket putting it in the garage and taking them for a training toss the next day, then when they start racing the long time in the basket does not bring on stress
