Marcel Van Ostaeyen ( they are Janssen based family)

got some youngbirds in last year has any body raced these and did they do ok mine didnt do anything as youngsters hoping they will be ok as yearlings thay are Marcel Van Ostaeyen ( they are Janssen/meuleman/Houben/Hofkens based sprint family)

hi ian, i got some verheyan/hofken janssens last year (2010) and as you know they only had two short 56 miles but im hoping for bigger things to come from them in future........also just got two older pair loaned to me a few weeks ago so i know these are off top birds.

When my father and I along with our late partner mr William Sanderson tried these birds from Marcel van Ostaeyen they were fantastic very consistant every week as Ybds the next season my father got 12 Choc reds from Marcel, they were Meulemanns and they were even better, they bred good pigeons last year too, excellent value for money.

Hi Ian they are great handling birds too everyone at the club used to comment on them when we put them through, One of the blues topped the Fed from our unfavourable loft position out of the 7 blues and chequesVerhayen Hofkins janssens (that made the first Yb race) 5 won prizes 3 multiple prizes, the Chocolate reds my father bought 12 and 9 made it to race 1 they flew the card and he still had 7 left all prize winners one of them took 5 prizes on his own.

Our friend took in the chocs when my father packed in for health reasons and crossed them with his own birds, he raced the offspring 2010 yb season and he was pleased with them and had a few prizewinners with the crosses.

ive been told these verheyan/hofkens i have will do the chanel too and are capable of winning...............i wont be entering them tho for a while.

Ian they are a good pigeon as i am very good freinds with the UK Agent for this pigeons

But at the end of the day it's not the pigeon it's the fancier

still helps to have the cattle as they say don trouble is you cant buy there methods

Will second that but the top fanciers who have this breed have won and won well

so theres hope for me then

only snagg is all hens and i dont race hens

Well you best get a section for hens then

just cross them in with mine then race the youngsters

But how do you know that they are any good first have you raced them???

yes last year came steady but had problems last year so didnt give them justice also same way bred pigeons winning for other people

how do we know any pigeon is any good until they have been tested

ive had these didnt rate at all
