Very Happy My widows took ages to lay, first eggs took about a week but the last lot were 3 weeks and longer, my stock birds were paired 3 weeks after and have almost laid the same time, so they went down quick, cant understand what made the difference. scratch

Yes I think thats my problem with the widows, they are all either yearling hens or cocks or both, they do always take longer unless they had eggs as youngsters while racing.

Very Happy I have 3 yearling hens all had eggs as youngsters and went down faster than older hens within 10 days, so maybe good thing to let them lays in the first year?
