| hi all thanx for the advice given to my last question, ive got another 1, put a nest in with my birds this morning put some shavings in the bottom is there anything else i need to give them for there nests as i am new to this, |

| you can also give the birds some straw scatter on the floor they will build there own nest or add a small amount to the bowl |

| cant say mate never tried them some use tobaco stalks but ide say most use straw or nest felts but straw is fine so long as its clean and dry and a lot cheaper |

| i use nest felts and straw and tobacco stalks but then with not having many birds its affordable and the tobacco stalks keep away lice and mites but you could also use a beer mat soaked in creasote and left to dry out and put it under the nest bowl |

| i use straw in the nest, as someone already said its cheap and as long as its clean and dry it is good enough........i usually put some in the bowl and then scatter some on the loft floor for then to build their own nest as i think this helps settling them to their own box by flying up and down to the box.
also have put sand in the bottom of the bowl somrtimes to stop the egg possibly getting cracked.... |

| shavings in the nest bowl then straw on the floor for them to pick up , but before you put the straw down put the straw in a bag and add some lice powder shake well and leave over night so the straw gets fully coverd with the lice powder . happy breeding |
