What breeds are everyone racing?

Just thought would ask what breeds are other members racing (and any new introductions planned for 2010)

hi, i race anything it does not matter to me, but my main birds have been the dhanan,s which have won well for us.what do you race and have you done any winning with them,also how have you done this season

We race basically our own family of birds which are predominantly Gaby Vandenabeele/Timmer Janssen and a few select others blended since about 2003.

They have won well for us every year.

Highlights this year down here with old birds 1234 club Littlehampton, 1st section 22nd open NFC Saintes, 1st section 3rd open BICC OH) and youngsters winning the first four races on the trot (taking the first four twice)

excellent results there, we hope you,ll join our YB exchange with results like that

Are these Lefebre Dhaennens?

If so we had these in the late 80's early 90's and they were a fantastic team of birds obtained from Herd/Kenyon and Terry Rainbow, a superb family of middle distance birds around the lines of ragamuffin, victrix & geisha

couldnt fault them, tried to bring some back in a few years ago but could only find louella with them so that was that

yes they are, been great for us as well, ours are buswacker lines

Hi I a racing mostly janssens of some kind, I bought 11 birds from one loft in holand janssen based. good birds.

Janssens mostly, some unknown strains also, they all fly extremely well

hi, ive got lefebre dhaenens which came from nigel cawood, jimmy richards and louella.....and ive just bought a pair of janssens to try also.

About the janssen strain , what i mean is , direct family , out of the janssen brothers loft belgium , I dont think there is a pure stain left after world war.

hi martyn, they were bred by a man called ian schofield from bradford.....on the cocks pedigree the grandsire is a nl rung pigeon and says direct janssen meuleman.

on the hens pedigree it just says janssen, and then some names are "jan loots hen" "first lady" and "regina" . dont know if this means anything but the hen has been paired to two different cocks and bred 1st prize winners with both of them.

and our ritchie and white strain of stormqueens lines for 250 miles up to 730 miles

dont really go for breeds as i tend to cross in different breeds and try them out

Only have one more purchase to make i think and then its done.

look impressive birds you have there, some of the breeds/strains ive heard of and they are doing well by all accounts......some are new to me but im sure you have done your homework on them, hope they do well for you. by the way, whats the one more purchasegoing to be ?

Hi david, Looking at the peds of your janssens, they seem similar to what I have. I have meulamans and jan loots comes up in the braspenning janssens pedigree its an old line but must have been good at the time for braspenning to use them.., not surprised they are winning for you,my janssens are the best birds I have ever owned. All my birds are janssen based from janssen brothers originaly.

hi martyn, thanks for the info re the janssens......ill put some more info on so we can compare them and also there are some other names on the pedigrees which could be the same....
