| hi lads just a thought about winning or looseing.myself i keep and race pigeons for my own inoyment only,i wont race widdowhood/roundabout or whatever just becouse its the way to win, i race my birds for me to injoy so its the old natural for me. but ybs will be on darkness as from now as the loft i just got has a darkness section so may as well use it.but like i say i race for me to injoy watching the birds getting back on the day and if i do win its a extra.thats me whats your thoughts on this.

i like to see the birds coming home but to win, very upset or i should say dissapointed if they are rubbish, especially when you have put a lot of hard work and money into them ie training that week.i cannot help it but my motiavation is beating the big lads and i,ve done that a few times, its a fantastic feeling believe me

hi, as most members know im just restarting this coming season with ybs.....but altho i know its nice to have them return home and after all it is a hobby, personally im flying to win......maybe i wont do anything for a while but my sole intention is to try to win. also as far as im aware the prize money in club racing is not that great but at least it would help to keep/feed the pigeons.

If I was in it for money, It would take me 100 years to get back what I have spent, so not init for money. and an old fancier told me years ago if you win all the trophies in the club and all the first cards, if you rip them up the birds wont eat them, NEVER FORGOT THIS...Basically after all said and done a draw ful of cards are no good, Im in it for pleasure only and thats when they return and hopfully win. Winnings great but I love looking at them at the end of the season and saying well that ones flown 200 miles twice, that ones flown 8 races ect .ect. now thats pleasure.

we are all sportsmen/women, we all like to win (just demonstrates that on that day, the work, the effort that you have put in has been rewarded). As long as your team is fit and healthy you are in with a chance. winning is not everything tho, we have won races in the past but the returns have been dire, acually stated "would rather have them all back than won it". also to win is great, but if your next bird is 10 minutes behind (sprint type racing) have YOU actually won or have you been lucky? team performance makes you content (but unfortunately 9 times out of 10 dont help with the corn bill!! be happy

seems like we all have our own thoughts on racing pigeons, weather it be for the glory or the money, altho by what ive seen/read unless its a major race ie natiaonal etc the club money isnt that great.......as some have said, we can never recoup what we spend on feed, equipment, race costs etc but its nice if we do get something out of it......thats my view on it anyway.

Im in it too win, you work hard with the birds to get them to the point of giving their best for you, so why settle for anything less, i bet all the other fanciers you are rqacing against expect their birds to win so why not you Ken
