| when i take mine i leave them in the basket for maybe 5 mins just to get used to being out of the car and to relax and get their bearings a bit........it also gives me time to check for hawks or big batches of pigeons in the area which could take mine off in the oposite direction etc. |

| you are right mate i drive a van so should take more care what do you do if you should see a hawk do i take them further on or take them back i always take them to the same spot each time 30mls this seems to be the most popular distance and as hawks go i must be lucky but will now check in future but still get them of as quickly as possible |

| i read once where someone let off rockets to scare any possible hawks/bops in ther area before liberating them..........
dont know if it would work but they certainly thought so. |

if they coming ok no reason to move but just check before hand and if you should start to get any bad returns or birds split up then have a move them hawks aint daft once they see birds on a regular basis they see it as a meal ticket its always best to rest them a few mins and let um focus in the light and as said check for other flocks and the hawks only takes a few mins to check but could save you a lot of bother |

| I had a hawk fly over and land about 200 yards away from my loft this race day. I heard him in the tree for maybe 20 minutes. Atleast three crows were over there hollering and I figured they attracted the hawk. Im going to toss in the morning and when I get home I will wait and see if I see the hawk. He may be checking for my birds coming home on a regular basis. He better hope I dont see him again, Ill give him lead poisoning, then Ill know he wont be waiting for them again. |

| hope training goes well for you chad, ive heard of fanciers alternating their exercising period so as not to create a routine which the hawk can follow...........i use a couple of large mirrors when birds are out, om the principle it will distract the hawks if attacking my birds. |
