what do i put in the letter ?

i know its a stupid question, but i need to put my aplication in to join the flying club.....but what do i say in it ? been a long time since we raced so ive forgot what we wrote before......i cant just say "can i join your club" can i. what do i put ?

Hi david, when I rejoined my local club I simply wrote a little bit about myself folowed by the request..something like.
Dear sir , after a short break from pigeon racing I have decided to give it another go with my son, who is really keen to get involved with the sport. Therefore I would like to apply for flying membership of you club for this season and would like to race young birds.....hope this helps. martyn

thanks martyn, just didnt know what to put.......didnt know if i had to put a load of details down of where im racing from or if i will be racing just ybs etc.....thanks martyn this has given me something to go on.

Dear Members of --------------------------flying club,
I would like you to consider allowing me to become a member of the flying club, I wish to join in the name of ------------ --------- .
i do not currently fly in any other club.
I look flrward to your reply,

Yours in sport
Blah blah blah.

if its your old club they wont want to see a clearence note, but if its a different club they may ask you to produce one.

thanks amanda, whats a clearance note ? it was 20 years ago since i raced but it was in the same club....

Hi David a clearence note, is a note from your old club to say that you were fully paid up in all bills when you left. If a person owes money to a old club, the new club may refuse to take you or insist that you pay your old dues before they allow you to join them.

29th of this month.....was going to give the letter to bloke in next street , but cant trust it to get there....what else can i do ?

why dont you go to the agm your self and hand it in in person you wont be to stay but you could hand it in
