They were agood reliable bird, masseralla as stopped selling them now i think they got watered down too much from the originals

yes i like to inbreed but you need to put a cross into them as well but like you say io dont think masseralla did that, the Derek you are talking about does he race from a bit of a allotment at longridge near a mini roundabout

I do a lot of inbreeding, but that is reserved for exceptional birds, I also do a lot of line breeding. But I agree, you have to outcross them.
It sounds familiar I think it was near a fire station.

To bwe honest gary never noticed a fire station too busy trying to see the loft every time i pass there lol, with inbreding it will hilight the good traits in a bird but will also high light the bad trats aswell, so with inbreeding you have to be more vigilent with the birds and cull anything that shows even the slightest of weakness

Your right there, like I said I only inbreed exceptional pigeons and believe they have to be. we have a few good established families that we do line breed and then outcross with each other. But it has worked well over the years.
Have you ever heard of Mr and Mrs Shakeshaft from your neck of the woods, they used to breed Fauconniers. Good channel fliers they were.

I have heard of these guys, good fanciers, I once met one of them, I think it was Brian. The reason I mention the shakeshafts, was they just disappeared I once had an outstanding hen from them who scored well for me and bred me my best ever hen who scored 27 cards in three seasons. But I lost her over the water and could never find this line again. The mother that is.
