The lead weight underneath at the end you just make it so the flap only just takes the weight of a pigeon ( flap rocks slightly) then it shouldn't take weight of cat and drops down Barry

this one is of the flap from front of shed in the closed position this one is rear of door in the closed position these two are as we see open i made it temporary at first just to get the concept of it, using a car number plate as the perch, using a T type hinge the weight of the hinge allways re-sets the perch back to the open position once something to heavy has come off it, to stop it from swinging 180 degrees i pinched the chain of an old hanging basket. as i said it was a temporary job to get the concept, but found it to work fine, and as my nan said " if it aint broke dont fix it "

There was a guy at Blackpool selling a teap with a full length letboard on it that was spring loaded, look the biz but was quite expensive. Thats why I prefer the wedge shape cages cats don't like them much for some reason.
