How much has this cost?
I suppose it's a start.
But what about Nottingham, Manchester, Chichester, Brighton, Preston, Norwich, National museum, Wales, Grantham, Worcester, Derby. Just for a start...

have you read the update in the racing pigeon gary ? it says they got a 5 minute slot on radio 2 to tell the public about pigeon racing........suprisingly enough the person chosen to represent the pigeon world was none other than our mr waldrop, a none pigeon fancier.........his main topic was to tell the british public about the joys of the rpra one loft racing, and to inform them that the queen was actually a pigeon fancier.........not much mention of joe bloggs the local man who kept them in his back garden. No

they were even trying to organise a visit to sandringham for the itv`s breakfast program but it fell through.......it seems they are putting a lot of emphasis on the queen keeping pigeons to make the british public come out in force and support the pigeon world............ scratch No No

I am sure back in the 1950/60 their was a fine of £50 for the shotting or killing of raceing pigeons if this is right why is`nt the RPRA taking this up after all they are our property, that would mean lf the RSPB bought the law in that would mean they are resposible for the carnage that is going on. I don't get the racing pigeon mate.

Really I don't get it, why can they not see what is under their noses.
If they want to portray the character of pigeon racing, they should forget the Queen and concentrate on the back garden fanciers, these after all are the backbone of the fancy. What it means to them to be a fancier, the hardships they have faced, the personal sacrifices, not just the financial implications, but the divorce rates associated with it.
These are the real fanciers, they are the fun side, the stories they tell etc
There are lots of avenues they could approach.

good point ginger, ive often thought they should be made responsible for any losses caused by hawks/bops........after all, the racing pigeon is owned by the fancier, its his property and the rspb should be made to compensate for any losses.

these are not fewral or wild birds, they are domesticated.....
