PostSubject: PGW Lofts (this forum only)   PGW Lofts (this forum only) EmptySat Jan 02, 2010 11:34 am

Just read on another post from Steve about raising some money for the site (ie yb/latebred sale) later in the year which we are in agreement with.

Just had a thought affraid
which may help get this started?

As those of you who know us, Me and Dad have been creating a sprint/middle distance familiy since the idea of the formation of the above since 2003. This would have come to fruition in 2006 after a fantastic season which cumulated in us winning 30 x 1st prizes, but unfortunately this had to be delayed due to me having to relocate due to work circumstances

But after further deciding to test this familiy now racing in a different area as having continued success, we decided to advertise in the BHW studbook 2010 (see below)

Bargain for the forum members only,
any forum member who wishes to purchase any youngsters, we will donate 10% to the forum fund, so ie a team of 6 for £200 with £20 of this going to the site. The price excludes carraige but i am sure that we can arrange to meet halfway if that helps anybody?

Anybody that doesnt know us, speak to fellow forum member Friendsloft who will tell you about us

Note the racing loft in Hungerford was basically set up due to Mark relocating down South due to work commitments in October 2006 and we saw this has another opportunity to challenge/test our family of versatile birds, so racing commenced from Hungerford with young birds in 2007, as you can see in a very short time these birds have represented us very well indeed which just demonstrates the potential that these birds possess.

2007 – Kingsdown 89mile 1st, 2nd, 4th (5 together)

2008 – Lessay 144mile 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th (6 together) 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th Section of the Fed

2009 – Littlehampton, 63mile 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th (10 together)

2009 – Seaton 85mile 1st, 2nd (8 together) 1st, 2nd North Section of the Fed

2009 – Seaton 85mile 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th (12 together) 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th Section of the Fed

2009 – Guernsey 144mile 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th (sent 7)

2009 – Saintes (NFC) 397mile 1st Section, 23rd Open (National Flying Club)

2009 - Falaise (BICC) 186mile 1st section, 3rd Open (OH)

In 2009, we sent 2 x YB up to a fancier friend in the North West to try against his own already very successful team:-

08.08.09 – NWHU 09 E 3101 1st Club, 1st Fed, 1st Combine Mangotsfield 130 mile (approx)

15.08.09 – NWHU 09 E 3102 1st Club, 1st Fed, 1st Combine Yeovil 168 mile (approx)

Background:- We commenced the PGW Loft’s vision in 2003 and started to test the first descendants in 2004 winning the federation twice with youngsters, we have maintained our vigorous selection process over the last 5 years to its present level and as a result we have created a sprint to middle distance family capable of competing in the right hands with anything out there, the odd birds that we have let go from our lofts over the last few years have mostly gone on to win or breed winners for their new owners upto federation level, ie amongst others a good friend in Warrington won 2 x clubs on the same day in 2007 to break his novice status after 10 yrs and he has continued to score since. So yes the families housed at PGW Lofts are tried, tested and winning for others

Young Birds available from February 2010 at £35 each / a kit of 6 for £200 (all come with parents & brief details only).

Or (priced at £40 each, with a full four generation printed pedigree for your purchases)

(sorry but pedigree’s only sent out during close season as with work, young family & competitive loft - time is at a premium)

No problems guys, it was just a thought to maybe get this fund off the ground, as we were advertising anyhow and if anybody was looking for something to test against their own family of birds these are as good as anything out there.

They may not be the "world beaters" or the "in names" being sold in the fancy press each week, but i can say hand on heart that they would certainly give them a run for their money and as a family i cannot fault them.

i paid £300 for 6 august bred y/bs from harrison and hull jansens, best looker and pedigree was shot, then i bought 6 van lints from louella, £90 a pr, they dont look or fly nowhere near as good as jansens, im no expert but i can see as Don says who is fair,
£200 for 6 is a very good deal for forum members, seriously looking at my finances for more, spent a lot last 4 months building lofts buying stock, but these are too good to miss wife will have to go without bounce Laughing lol!

these youngsters will be brothers & sisters to our own 2010 yb racing team/same way bred (ie we racing the first round, cos i dont place these on the dark), and the choice/selection will be yours

Last year we won the first four clubs races last year with youngsters often with batch arriving together and won the northern section of the fed in each of these races and from Guernsey we sent 7 yb and 5 x old hens (hens as trainers to get them ready for the nfc, bicc and classic hen races) when going to the club we had 6 x young ones home and all 5 old hens.

at the club there was only one other member recorded arrivals and we ended up 1st open fed

sounds like they are the real thing mark, often seen birds advertised which look on the surface as being top quality but all it is is good advertising and fancy words/names......hope the ybs do well for you steve if you decide to buy some. Very Happy
