| I used to use lime every day, keeps everything dry and looks nice...however....that was when I used to clean the young birds out twice a day, I couldnt keep them healthy as the loft was almost sterile and thats not good. I now leave the youngbirds for about 3/4 days then clean out and instead of lime I burn the loft now all very healthy youngsters. I do still have loft white harkers and mix about 20% lime with it, this is only used in the nest boxes around the pan when breeding. |

| Yes I think I have said it on here before every time the weathers a bit damp or there has been rain, the next time I clean out the torch goes to work until my floor is hot....If it rains every day I burn every day its the only way to keep them healthy without drugs. There is also no dust in my lofts as it gets vapourised along with blume , moths, flies and feathers nothing can withstand the flame... |
