Today I had a non fancier come to my door with a yb that flew into his works. He brought the yb in a box and asked me if I could find out who owned it. I took the bird from the box and opened it's wing to reveal the wing stamp. The lad went a way happy and told me he was going to ring it's owner. About half an hour ago, the same guy reappeared on my doorstep a little confused. He told me he rang the owner and the owner does not want it. Apparently he has had loads that have all flown away, they are not he's apparently they are his sons, who is in hospital and he cannot be bothered with them. The has asked me if I can look after it for him, I said to the lad the best I can do is put it in a basket for a few days and feed it up and then let it go, because I have enough. Some people really do piss me off, this guy was going to take it to the RSPCA.

if it was me i would phone the bloke myself gaz, and remind him of hes or his sons obligations to recover lost pigeons.........if he is still refusing to accept his resposability i would report the pigeon to the rpra, where he will have so long to recover it......

I'm just going to get in touch with a couple of the local lads and see who this person is and what club he flies in. I did ring and got a snotty woman who said her husband wasn't in and they don't keep them any more? The mind boggles. Your right there Ian, it doesn't mate.

mind you, if you report to rpra they will tell him he has so long to recover the pigeon, then after this you will have to inform them if he hasnt done it.....then they will remind him of his obligation to recover and give him another 14 days or so. all in all you could end up stuck with it for a month maybe....... in one way i would bin it, and in another i would make this disgrace of a fancier pay for his couldnt care less attitude.

cant believe some people, but then again it sounds like even if hes reported and the union give him so long to collect the bird, sounds like even a ban wont bother him, and with that attitude unfortunately don't think there's any way the bloke would pay to recover it, the sports got no chance with idiots like this.
