| Hello, i'm hoping someone on here can help with a found pigeon.
I've had the pigeon at work for the last 3 days and it won't leave dispite two large roller doors being open, its been out a couple of times but keeps coming back. I'm in Elgin, Moray, Scotland. Perhaps it does not want to go out because of a large number of Gulls outside?
It has a band on each leg, the left one is green with no markings. The right one is pink, it has su12 N E 7182.
Hopefully someone here can help.
Thanks, Greg. |

That is a bird from my club. I will speak to the secretary and get the owner to pick it up.
Thanks for reporting it.

But credit to you Paul Hi Don, I have picked up 6 or 7 over the last couple of years from non-fanciers. I think we have a reponsibility when it comes to dealing with the public in respect to lost birds. The good thing is that I have had friends do the same for me and recently a friend of mine had a bird in Ireland with a non fancier. He asked if I could help and I contacted a friend in Ireland who contacted one of his friends and it was picked up the next day. It is what being a 'pigeonman' is all about. I am a great believer in 'what goes around comes around' Paul. |

| Been and collected the bird this morning at the distillery, a nice wee blue pied hen. She has been hit by a hawk and has some damage under her right wing and some missing tail feathers. Nothing to serious though. Gave her a feed and some glucose in the water as she has lost a lot of body.
I would like to thank Greg and his workmates on behalf of the pigeon fancy for their care and attention in looking after my clubmates bird. Without the food and water they had given her she probably wouldn't have made it. Due to that care she will make a full and speedy recovery and has peked up since the glucose and vitamins have been absorbed.
Thanks again Greg and it was a pleasure to meet you.
Paul. |
