| anyone read the piece in the sunday papers about security being increased at the blackpool show at the weekend, someone threatened to kidnap birds worth up to £100,000 which were due to be auctioned........says visitors would be checked on entering. ? |

| dont know if you saw the program about the sun city race martyn, one of the main pigeon men in the program (cant remember his name) was an auctioner and during the auction the fire alarm went off and everyone had to leave the room.....when they came back birds had been stolen.  |

| thats him, dont know ian......but why would he steal his own birds he was auctioning ? |

| I know who you mean and I have heared that story, madness. I wouldnt mind betting it was planned, they have to be insured, who eles would think of such a thing. The thing is the prices pigeons are fetching these days its like robbing a bank. I was on the pippa website the other night and some young birds off an up and coming fancier were making 30k, one went for 96,000 euros. now thats serious money. |

| dont know if you saw the program martyn, but because of some avian flu a couple of years ago and all movement of birds was prohibited it showed the same man trying to auction belgium rung birds and he couldnt even get £20 for them....... so who lost out there ? |

| dont know whos they were ian, all i know is he was auctioning them and the programs stated he was one of the top auctioners of pigeons ..........didnt seem like the sort of man who was that short of a few quid that he`d need to steal a couple of pigeons.........  |

this happened at the blackpool show one year some one set the fire alarms of came back and let a lot of the birds out of the cages,that was to cover up what they took i reckon as people lost birds as they got out of open doors and windows there so low lifes out there thats for sure |
