| that's right david. but thy do look nice. I would thing if you was to paint your boxes with gloss paint. all you would have to do is give them a wipe down now and again. when we had the canaries all our cages were painted with gloss paint. and it was a treat to keep them clean. and once you pained them it lasted for years. john. ps it took a while to do as we had 60 cages to paint.

| i used these boxes, well most of them for widowhood hens but we did,nt paint them, they got all damp off the water pots and it started to spoil ,them with them being made from chipboard we had to paint them.i know its a shame to put the birds in but at the end of the day thats what they are there for |

| our hens always do well for us,they pull us out of the sh**e ,especially in harder races or hold overs,it was the hens which all scored this year barr one or two cocks.so we will always race hens |

very nice. so what is the plan, to keep them locked in when not at exercise or in the other section. is this instead of putting them out in the aviary.
lovely job ray.

| we lock them up.if you do,nt fresh hens will pair.someone once said to me hens wo,nt pair up.if they are fresh enough they will believe me...so now they are locked up from sunday to friday and it does,nt harm them one bit |

| but you do race them ray? they are on roundabout? so how often do you exercise them? do they trap back into the cocks' section etc?
seems a lot of work having to re box them and feed in the box, do you think an aviary would be better?
i have no doubt but that they will pair. sure as there is sh1t in a duck. Bill |

| If ya put um on floor grills and on T Perches you would never have a problem with them pairing with each other, stewhit told me about a guy me met recently who a mesh floor in his hens section with a fantail cock underneath the mesh. He reckoned he never had a hen pair with another hen. |

| if theyre on t perches and floor grilles, what is it about the grilles that stops them pairing up? |
