im not saying there arent good birds or bargains to be had at blackpool before anybody jumps on the bandwagon but the old saying definately rings true that a fool and his money are easily parted |

| Like with anything else in this world it pays to do your homework. Many fanciers will from time to time reduce their stock, I think these can be the best places to shop. Many will be selling many birds with many first places as yb, if they were indeed that good why would they be they be selling them?
Think before you part with your roubles, remember all that glistens is not gold. Fools Gold.
Blackpool show weekend is a fantastic place without a doubt, steeped with a great atmosphere. I love going to the auctions, I enjoy watching the auctioneers at work, they are the real masters at selling pigeons.
Best of luck with your purchases..

| i think its all too easy to be sucked in at these auctions, and pay more than you wanted to.....pigeon men are constantly searching for that elusive champion or breeder of champions, these auctioners are masters at advertising average pigeons, and reeling off pages of worthless pedigrees. remember the saying a fool and his money are easily parted..... |

| i love the auctions and over the last few years have bought some very good birds at really cheap prices.i know i have bought a lot but i think sometimes to ahve to if you want to progress.as mentioned i paid about 100 pound for one pair and one of their first ybs topped the fed for us,we hit lucky in buying a pair like this but if you do,nt try and buy you wo,nt move on.i believe you have to add to your stock every single year to see if there is anything better out there and i will continue to do so,thats my choice, again i like to buy new birds in its gives me a buzz, especially if they win ..i would buy more this year at blackpool if i had the room and the money but i have bought one or two in so none for me this year.when i get to blackpool i,ll be itching to buy something lol.. |

| If any one is going to the auctions my advice would be to Budgie Crathorne sale at the central Club Fri view 10 am. Sat. view 10 am,and Sat view 2 30 there is some very good birds I was thinking of sum getting from him to mix with mine. if I was up there I would be at that sale as I no the quality of those birds, mainly Busschaerts Its an entire clearance so nothing is kept back. |
