how many stock pairs

how many stock pairs do people have just curious i myself have 12 pairs

about 22 pair,do you want some more next year plenty going after this season

might do depends on youngbirds

i have 7 pairs 3 pair wieldies 2 pairs Arden 2 pairs of barkers

have four pairs of stock birds, two pair lefebre dhaenens and two pairs of janssens.........suppose you couls also call my other six pair stock as altho they fly out they will never race.

6pr at home, 8pr at loft

yes I have 11 pairs of stock. too many really Im getting down to 8 next year.

same here martyn, the ten pairs i have now im breeding from and whichever ybs do well or rubbish will decide on which parents if any i will keep....

we think very much alike david thats exactly what im doing this year. I have a few birds that bred ok youngsters last year but have changed all my pairings this year even the ones who gave good babies. so this year will tell if they can do it again with different pairings.

was reading the bert braspenning column in the weekly and he said that even if a certain pair had bred good birds/winners he would always change the pairings round every year.........

thats interesting, I think if a pair did breed more than 1 winner I would keep them together, cos thats all we ask for really.

think i would martyn, i had a pair of 07 birds and in every nest they had they bred a yb to score.....not 1sts but 2nds 4ths 5ths and pools etc for the 2 seasons i brd form them i kept them together and for the third season i would have done the same if i hadnt lost the cock out of my stock shed...... but always in the back of my mind i though should i re-pair them to different partners and maybe they would breed 1st prize winners........????

not to bad david will try the race team up again this week but happy with stock loft the old cock is having the time of his life just now hes in with 12 hens hes paird up with a young roland jannssen hen so hes happy just now keapijng him going until i pair him up in april

hope you get some out of him again john, have you moved him to your usually place now or doing it later on....?
