| I would say its real in his videos he has a mask on all the time and makes no bones about the time to quit if it comes, but I do realize that it comes at the right time for him and he knows he can make a lot of money and retire, sadly the hermans/ceusters dynasty didnt last and the leo hermans dynasty was even shorter but carried it on as they are basically hermans ceusters pigeons he has for sale, only without the ceusters. sad day but they will be on the market for all through premier and eijerkamp as I bet he will buy some.
And if there are some that the prices are not too stupid on, I doupt it though, I will have a bid on 1 or 2, as there are a lot of birds forsale. |

We all know these days it's money, money money type of thing to say. But to me it's crazy stuff. Most will in my view, get their fingers burnt & the sport will be the big looser I'm afraid, the way I see it. ***** |

| Im a bert fan but I must admit could be sour grapes, he missed the boat as when he sold out there was no internet to japan to inflate the prices, so he might think hes not got the value for his birds he should have in the past. He was selling on pippa the other day too, truth is years ago he bought janssens and they gave sucess, his results now just arent up to that of Leo hermans. |

| He didn't like it when Louella started selling GChildren of the top racers for reasonable prices. At first when Louella bought them, GChildren were @£100 - £150 upwards and directs out of best pigeons were rarely sold by Louella so anyone going direct to Bert, well he could get nice prices, demand kept his prices high, but times change. I remember @15 years ago Blackpool Savoy auction and people going mad for them. Fast forward some years later and Louella are bringing newer families in so Bert's pigeons aren't in fashion, then being sold @£200 for 6 to race, maybe even less. So not many foreign fanciers knocking on his own door waving the cheque book anymore. Braspenning one of many I suppose, can't always have it their own way. Same might happen to Leo Hermans but not in the near future by look of things. |
