Oldstrain/Darren`s Winner of winners. 2012.
From Fed Topper to Master Chef
The N.E.H.U race from Melton Mowbray 21/4/2012 was won by Peel bros of South Shields, they took 1st club 1st fed, also taking 2nd and 4th club and 15 of the 25 birds clocked in the club......well done Peel brothers.
after a few short toss's by the 9/7 they were at 12mls by the 31/7 they were at 35mls and had 21 tosses in total then a 49ml race
21 tosses then a 49 mile race, one would have to say they were what I would call experienced pigeons. In my view management is not at fault there so to speak ????? . Loft management in most cases is not an issue the way I think Thou !!!!!!!!!!! for some one who has not been to a vet in over 20 years I often wonder about the use of antibiotics with these type of races, with so many pigeons coming from all over the place etc. Hawks I live in hawk valley here & they certainly are an issue, world wide now I would say. Far more damage is done by them at a mental level in my view with the pigeons than the damage which they do when taking them out of the sky, one may be taking but 50 will have an experience many cannot get over quickly when they panic etc. One certainly wishes these type of races success, but one does just wonder how long they can go on, when in the most part the same common problems keep occuring, know matter where they are held. *****
