club secretary

who would do the job of club secretary ?

No thank you at all, in every club you always get the same old faces who put the effort in to be criticised by the ones who stand back and do nothing

I have seen this from a young age

Was at my friend's the other day and another fancier was there commenting on how its the same old faces doing all the work

On hearing this i say to tet fancier you have never done anything all the years I have known you so how can you comment then there was a long silence not much said after that

I will do it ...you have to admire the effort the club sec puts in its a thankless task I must be one of my only club members to get the poor man a beer for his efforts ie phoning all members with a liberation time ,being just one of them

I'll agree with you Daz it is a thankless job but without them you have no club

well lads after being sec 3 times in my life, and responsible for forming 2 clubs in that time, i am well aware of the grinding down you get and not allot of help from others , but you cant tar them all with the same brush, so i bit the bullet last night and took on the thankless task yet again, it looks like the only way i can get my birds south road racing in this area, the club is on its arse so it will be run from my home , till things get better ? it also gets my birds in the right direction so i can enjoy my distance racing over the channel i am now looking to join a classic club or 2 ?

I took the secretarys job on 5 years ago when the original top table ran the club into the ground and was prepared to let the club go under, never done the job before it was a big learning curve and still is but i think im getting the hang of it now , i must point out that i have some good pigeon men around me which helps. Enjoy the job theirs not many of us left now

I am our club secretary, have been for 3 years now.
Some members need nursing through everything but most are no trouble.
The thing is each member seems to think that their problem is all you have to deal with, When you have 25 members like we have it can be hectic.
But I consider it a honour.

i was club sec for 10 years its not as easy as some think but once you get going its not to bad my pet hate was filling all the prize cards in at end of the year so after year 1 i did it after each race lol

looks like ile be roped in to doing the job again once me and my mate have gone as a partnership but in one club they aint to bad in the other i wont bbe doing the job to many as don says t**ts that complain 24/7 and do sod all

i,m our club sec but i,m still unsure if i,m doing it next season because of all the sh**e that goes with it ,but i,ll see....

well have i been busy, informed the R.P.R.A. that i have taken over the reins, orderd rings, had basket seals delivered , applied to fed,also applied to regeion for change of rout that!s £40 for addverts, now we wait for hopefully a sucesfull answer ? fingers crossed
