Why, OH why.

Why do they do it Fed the stockies early this morning, then come in for breakfast etc & a wee chat here type of thing, then back out again to ring a few youngsters. Well !!! I'm one a******e of a cock, went into another box here & then went 20 rounds with the pair from that box. Unfortunately Doctor death here has just spent the last hour cleaning up & the 2 youngsters in the nest are now covered in iodine from head to toe sadly & I just don't like there chances of surviving some how. So !!!
Why oh why .

One question for you about this, is why are you breeding youngsters this time of year?? I thought every one separated the birds over the winter, as there is time enough to breed all year from December on.

This could be a separate topic as Im really interested to know, a friend of mine up in England called me the other day and in conversation he said he,d rung ybs, I was amazed and asked why? he likes a few winter breds to train and race as old birds, but it seems mental to me.

Im not having a go Knackered Im just really interested to know what other do, as I split mine soon as I can usually about September, and they don't see each other again till December and that's only recently because most years I haven't bred til feb.?
So that's 5 months apart.

knackered is in Australia martyn, its different to here in the uk......

the end of February for me we will start breeding.
and young will go on darkness. and we find by the time the young bird racing starts
thy are like old birds.
ps and its to cold to be standing out there in the winter.
