I think our member essexsteve has De Meyers birds......

Years ago, I raced Delbars and Busharts, only time will tell what the young birds i have bought will do. But that can wait, just glad to be back.

I felt like that for a while dev, but after 6 years im wondering weather I did the right thing, it takes over your life.......

I guess it does David, but if your enjoying what your doing, it makes so much better, but thats just my thoughts. I think the numbers of pigeons flying today, are well down when i was last in the sport.

all todays birds are bred down from these old names some delbars and bushys still knocking about ...soon as they go into a winning loft they adopt the loft owners name

yeah jan arden,bricoux ...list is endless really some catrysse still knocking about van hee most been crossed now though ,main thing is to get the rite birds from a decent source and hope theirs some good ones amongst them

Yes i think your right Oldstrain, I think this has been proved over the years, but i dont think you find many. Its finding them good lines.

Thorsten daum has janssen in his birds through Louis van loon don't know much about the de Meyers though...I take it you are targeting sprint middle distance races

I have read some good flyers have done well with the De Meyers, I think the Janssen have been crossed with most strains. I think if it connects you can have a good family of birds. I am looking at sprint to middle distance, to get back into the flow of things.

did you buy the two families with a view to crossing them further down the line...if I was going for sprint middle I would go for the frans zwols and give them a try as I know guys doing well with them and not just in my area ...I prefer distance racing though

I think i would look at the cross to be honest, and your right with Frans Zwols i have been in touch with him, and that is going to be the third family of pigeons. I think i will have some good thoughts, from these 3 strains of pigeons, Or so i hope.

ah rite ...I think you will have a good cross with the Thorsten and zwols a connection with the janssen pigeons between these two breeds good luck

Maybe so "A good bunch" the art is trying to understand the different dialect's etc here being such a hotch potch group of misfits .

Careful what you say as from my perspective         there is only 2 educated types here. Killer & me cause anybody that would be daft enough to put up with all that snow you have year in year out is lacking something in the brain department. Tho perhaps I should include my little mate Alfie here, because he at least had the intelligence factor to knock back the big prize, that G wished to bestow on him.
