mine are the same mark their only eating 2/3 rds of an ounce but exercising well ...they are leaving the barley will just leave um to it

I been told when widowhood cocks on form they don't eat much.
If you've just taken the hens away they might sulk for a day or so but will be fine

A good friend of mine who could fly widowhood showed me what he did when the cocks went of their food he would place a small handful of food in one corner of the loft and the cocks would race each other to it just as they finished he would do the same in the oppossit corner the cocks would compet against each other for the feed and making the eat

If your cocks have had there hens removed then they will sulk

But on there other hand if the cocks are fit and flying well round home then there's nothing to worry about

One of the old fanciers I flew against was Ray Conroy of Coseley he had a cock that would not eat at all when he was in form he had to force feed him

That cock won 19 firsts but as soon as he started to eat his food he was not in winning form

Truth be told Don    . Most worry far to much in regards to how much a bird needs to eat etc to race at the top. Many know through experience, the good ones need very little when in form & the worrying bit for the most part is for nought .
