first toss today

north road birds had their first toss today all 10 of them only took them 10 miles all were home on arrival going berserk with the mating ritual and are now sulking after I split them up after 10 minutes of heaven ...looks good for another toss tomorrow then they will go on the local transporter to 20 miles and up to 40 miles after a few from 20 miles as we are one of the longest fliers so the training tosses for guys in our area are an extra 10 miles more than most south roaders can wait a few more weeks as they are all yearling hens and no rush for them as they can be dropped into the race programme at any time

thanks don had a call few hours ago and local training wagon starts Tuesday from 25 mile

Glad to hear it's all up & firing for you O/S etc. With your heavy work load ??? 10 the little will have to do some heavy lifting I suspect.

your humour is cutting oz...yeah 10 for the north and 10 for the south ...only 1 bird can take 1st place we are not big team fliers here just a small back garden loft ,unfortunately the lifting is still all down to that guy with the wooden leg (the old codger) or blackbeard if you like  and after a few rums or apple juice its a journey all of its own for the birds

MMMMMMMmmmmmmm I suggest the little has the smarts etc in the family, as he know's ??? dads an idiot going tossing the birds, when all he has to do is rattle the tin      to get them in when they all get home.

My god your a hard task master G One hopes you give them all at least a week off etc before you take them to the back door     for their next experience there.

True But I still think G could stretch it a bit some what. I suspect he has never heard of the land of the brave etc where men are men & they look a wee bit further than the back fence, to toss their future little champs .

Looking good for the gang safety in numbers when they get on board the local trainer etc. That is     unless Mr Falcon comes looking for a feed.

Little fat bloke rang just before here G & we were discussion your training methods etc & he ask me, to ask you did you get them all home with your first big toss.
Now !!! another tale about a fellow club member of mine, who was feeling confident  with what his birds were doing around the loft etc & so he decided to give them a big toss ??? 5 kilometres they went & he dropped 30 odd birds etc. Great sympathy was shown ??? by the 2 of us & my mate said to me I hope he has at least one left, for the first race. So he can pay his up front fees of $400.

Freezing rain today. 1st race May 8th. Birds doing well around the loft. Old birds will get a 20 40 and two 65 milers then start to race.
Young birds usually loft flying well start at 15 miles then 25 and ad 10 miles to 70 miles. Only jump them if they are coming straight back. 10 miles or less first toss they overfly.

had first toss from 25 miles today got 1 cock away least experienced of the bunch ,two hens turned in first...but have got word the peregrine went into the convoy shortly after liberation ... they were well strung out on arrival ...some don't give a f**k I know ,sending um out with broken legs etc...but here we have morals ...sure he will turn in sooner or later

just turned in, a thirsty boy indeed ...

One would hope so O/S "Turn up" 10% missing could be some what tragic if it continues there. One just hopes, the little hasn't done his numbers yet as such.

been north and south 25 miles last 2 days with the 2 teams  ...happy to say full returns ,think we been a bit lucky with that but it makes a change ... birds making good time but who cares we don't want a peak too early
