supposed to be 19 days from first egg laid, but i suppose a day or so earlier is possible as there is no accounting for nature.................

correct ian, 19 first egg, 18 second........i always count from the first egg myself as they supposidly only cover the first egg not actually incubate it.

well sorry to be a doupting thomas, but its impossible!!! nature takes 18 days from spare day just before second egg and thats it Im afraid if you have then hatching early you have written the date down but the wrong one. It is possible to have them later 19 /20 days because it depends on how tight the hens sit. I have taken eggs from friends in the past kept them for 5 days before putting them under a hen. Rene if it were a day either way then fine but not 5 it is biologically impossible.
