| Phil always remember when i was very young, one sunday afternoon when my dad came from the pub, he went down to the loft counted the youngbirds and let them out left the dog in the garden and locked the gate had his dinner and went to bed for a sleep When he woke up went to the loft youngbird all over the place, dad called them in counted them then feed them and turned round and said to me well thats a good start none lost, shall keep to that method and i had a good sleep also my dad said HA |

yes will agree with ray, i find it hard to get control of ybs and to get them into a routine.......i always try to get them to know the sound of the corn tin tattling so thery associate it with food, |

| Ray the best thing for youngbirds is a whistle everytime you feed them use it and they won't mess about |

| Steve if you are going to use the whistle, not telling you to suck eggs, the best way for me to use it would be, when you feed your birds if you feed early start or mid afternoon there feed use the whistle for about a week everytime you feed them
Then the following week extend the time by 30 mins longer for there feeding time so if you feed at 2.00pm make it 2.30pm and use the whistle everytime for a week, then the following week extend the time to 3.00pm/3.15pm then start feeding them use the whistle then start to let them out lets say 2.00pm let them have a fly, come 3.15pm come from your house start walking to the loft using the whistle.
The pigeons with the brains will be in no messing about as they know whistle means feeding time, but the ones which don't come in then they miss there food same again the next day bet the ones which missed there food will not mess about the next dayand so on
Hope this helps |
