Feed best before date

Do you guys think that pigeon feed , or any other avian feed for that matter deteriorates over time, it has probably been asked somewhere before but just thought I'd ask your opinions on it

never look at the date they get what I have

Like everythink else in world Boosey, we do have best before dates. I think its best to keep things as fresh as possible, we know the seeds are picked at a time of the year. So storage is a major factor, over the time the seeds start to loose the rich oils in them, that we need for a well balanced diet for our birds. So i think good storage can help.

Truth be told Devo, most trust to luck etc when buying our feed I imagine. Harvesting, supplier's, storage & honesty all play a part when we fork out our good money for that magic mix I suspect.

always keep to the dates why take the chance when theirs no need to jmo

depends how much you buy in I only buy 2 bags at a time from local club

Go for it Lofty Slag away as one could believe these days we live in a world, where many believe etc that's the way to go. Total denial for ones actions, as such & it for the best part starts at the top with our politicians sadly.
