Where`s it Been...?

was feeding my birds this morning and suddenly a blue pigeon dropped onto my loft, I went out side and seen it was a bird that by the looks of it had been out quite a while, it was tired looking, hungry and looked like it was well weathered.......I gave it some food and a small bowl of water and carried on seeing to my own birds, it seemed very relaxed and started following me around so I looked at the ring and seen it was a 2012 with my club ring on, upon further investigation im pretty sure its one of mine I lost as a young bird.....now it appears 4 years later with a pink clip on ring, but looking as though it has been living rough.

any thoughts anyone...?

I reckon someone had it in bred from it then let it go and now its worked back

My guess:
You lost it, someone got it in and put a clip ring on to quickly identify it.
They trained with their own to see how it came, if it was doing ok they would have reported it to get transferred to themselves before racing.
Then they lost it before racing, it's lived rough for years then ended back home?

update on the mystery bird........turns out when I checked the ring no it was indeed our club ring, but not my bird.......... , it belonged to a local fancier who has recently moved to blackpool, and he gave it to another club member

thank goodness for that, ive more than enough pigeons , so didn't want any more......he came at 8. 00 am this morning and collected the bird.......

Glad you double checked etc David . Steve's advise may not have gone down all that well, with the new owner I suspect .

I suspect the pigeon in question   wouldn't have been all that happy also either David etc.

just aswell you never sent it to its maker .... would have been some explaining
