From Fed Topper to Master Chef
The N.E.H.U race from Melton Mowbray 21/4/2012 was won by Peel bros of South Shields, they took 1st club 1st fed, also taking 2nd and 4th club and 15 of the 25 birds clocked in the club......well done Peel brothers.
We all know the importance of good planning etc, without it one would go no where I suspect, no matter what part of our life circle it concerns as such. Now this tale is about some one who basically got his figures wrong some what when he held a position of importance etc in my Fed here. It all come about as at the club last Friday here when they were setting my STb clock, a 1958 model along with another tragic flyer like me in the centre which had one also. The rest of the blokes have all gone electronic in their wisdom. Now, we were having a friendly chat with a bloke who now is known as Mr fixit & an old toss partner of mine & a gun of a flyer in the Fed & has the job of trying to save the Fed from the mess it's found it's self in sadly, & part of his job was to do a stock take of all items with a value of sorts ??? that they had. What he found was & there may be a bargain here for any one interested if they are quick was 2500 odd STB clock roles in the the goodies basket & by my calculations here thats 125 years of use, for those with a clock like mine here .
no wonder you cant get them here knackered, you lot have got them all...
any ink ribbons in that basket...?

Funny you mentioned them David etc, as my clock man a man under great pressure "a real, doctor doctor" has 2 plus a spare to set here & was concerned as he just put a new ink pad in my clock & that was the last one he had. Mr fixit said thou when asked, not a problem as I have 5 years supply of them in my goodies basket & that made me feel real good as I will be well & truly dead by then I suspect .
