| had a hen lay its first egg on the floor, tried locking her in the nestbox when she was due to lay the second egg but decided to leave her on the floor as it seemed to be unsettling her too much.....i decided to put a bowl down for them and she laid the second egg and is now happily incubating them, should i try cover them with a board lent up against the wall or leave them.....? |

| Thats true what Ian has said, you can put an egg in her box, and sometimes they do lay second in there i have done it this year, it works. |

| Going back a few years and an old fancier had an old hen always that always laid on the floor and one year he paired her late on the floor she laid and as time came had youngsters he added extra pigeons to the section which had no were to perch but on the floor this made the hen angry and would run the birds of the floor
The morel of this was the hen was sent to saintes 460 miles 1st Club 1st Fed 1st Combine only bird on the day |
