I would just like a few opinions on my new attic loft, the birds have been in now for about 4 days and settled well. thing is I have a window with a small landing board on it for the birds to come out, would you start putting them out now they are still very young and not flying? or should I let them get strong and just leave them to it with the window open and see what happens? Im really not sure what to do.

i would let them out as young as possible if they get too strong on the wing then youve got a good chance of loosing them

martyn, i would agree with ian, they need to be out as soon as possible and as often as possible to get them used to the surrounds.........if it was me i would just open the trap and let them either find their own way out or maybe put one or two out to show them what to do, then i would go stand outside and keep an eye on what they are doing..........if they cant fly very well i dont think they will over do it and attempt to fly off the board.
