| never liked he idea of scaring them up because i think once you have broken the feeling of safety the ybs develope by walking around the loft/garden it can spoil them for trapping in future as when ive done this in the past they hesitate when landing or dont want to land and then go to the house roof.......so i agree with little hen on this. |

| sometimes you have to chase them up before they get to big otherwise when they do eventually go up , you wont see them again |

wont matter if they have been out since weaning and had a good look around, all the time they are out pecking around the garden and on the loft roof they are getting their bearings......and also the little circles they do when fluttering on and off the loft is teaching them too. |

| the only thing i do is open up the trap and go home for a hour whats there gets called in and fed if there not there , there is nothing you can do about it . once there batching up and flying as a kit then there routine starts all done through there belly i don,t strave them but there kept hungry till they know the crack i can trap them after flying in about 30 seconds any what stop out don,t get fed they soon learn . |

| as from the time the start flying i dont let them sit around on the loft after a fly i get them in as soon as they are down.at first it can be hard to do but if you make the ones that sit around miss the feed they will be the first in the next day so on.if you let them sit around on the roof as ybs you will get probs. |

| First is feed control , second is feed control, and then it is feed control. Lion handlers use a whip, if you feed to much, you are losing your whip.

| thats the right idea steve, restrict the food intake and they come when called..........keep the food strictly rationed as you dont want too much weight on them and them getting lazy............. |

| Mark as soon as they are flying well then as soon as they start landing on the start throwing a tennis ball at them but keep the food of them also and after time if the pigeons have any brains they will soon know get the hint, you call them straight in and if they are still messing about then the one's that are messing about will have to start missing there food, and make a fuss of the ones doing what are asked of them |
