Can sprint birds get beat by mid or long distance birds? Sure! If the conditions are right. Last weekends races were a 250 and a 320 miler. For the last week or so weather here has broken records. 30 plus Celsius and with the humidity 40 Celsius. One more day of this then dropping to a high of 20 Celsius. Top Sprint fliers in the Fed, usually from 1200 to 1600 meters per minute were not in the top 20 of each race. Winning velocities were around the 1020 mpm mark. Guys who always fly further than the 300 mile mark in old birds cleaned up.

Must agree with you Hal. I got given some birds to try and on a normal race with the wind behind them they were 15 mins behind each week but soon as the wind was on there nose they won and even topped the fed.

Ok Smile Smile Last week's races here Hal Smile Smile were an absolute screamer for the first birds etc on average. Total disaster for most thou in all fed's here unfortunately "Especially the chook farmer type's". Today races by the numbers it appears sadly Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes has many flyers taking a sickie Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad of sorts Smile Smile  as the wind is right on the poor pigeons nose today here.
