It is not a threat. All birds have been in for a few months. They can see him from the aviaries. No matter the weather, empty aviary means raptor around. It keeps them sharp. I do not mind him around at all. Not over run with raptors as are you folks. He is only dangerous to young birds first time out. But with the aviary the young birds get to notice a lot. Lose a couple each year but acceptable losses. Very seldom can the raptors get the yearlings or older birds. Too much open country. Element of surprise is lost. I have seen a Peregrine dive on the birds, year or two ago. He missed. The Peregrine could not keep up in straight line flight.
Used to run a CD of an Eagle Owl calling to keep them away. But gave up on it. It worked but figured better they avoid what they can see. Raptors are in all areas. The CD is not.
