managed to wean 12 young birds today, into their own section.....all safe from being attacked by the old birds, will dip them in the water a couple of times a day, and make sure they are eating ok.

another 5 in the nest so far, plus eggs..... Razz Razz

ah right, in a couple of my sections they are on milk crates, but unfortunately they seem hard to come by nowadays.........in the section you see in the photo it is stood on a plastic grill to help stop damp under the bowl, its better than nothing I suppose, in some other sections the drinkers are up off the floor . Razz Razz flower


in the section for the ybs, ive taken the top off for now, to let the ybs learn to drink , yes I know they will bath in it, but I rather this and they learn, than them not learning and going backwards.......in a day or so when I know they are all drinking, the top will go back on, and my secret weapon will start being added to the water........ old cable drums are ok for standing drinkers on tho i use upturned crates, banks's beer ones are good....better than there beer drunken (no still sober)

no knackeroo, not me.....I use vitamins a couple of times a week which makes the water yellow, but not a different colour every day or me..... No No

At the moment I have 28/30 in the nest with rings on and two more to ring then their are the stock birds that start to hatch early next week

had a mishap today, went in this morning and 2 just hatched, all looked well with cock sat on nest........went in around 2.30 to feed again and found both ybs dead on the loft floor, how this happed I don't know, very strange. Suspect Suspect
