hi phil, glad to hear your racing this season....I think if the hens have raced before, and are coming from training well, then they should be ok if the weather is decent.........I`d be in two minds like your self, but they should be ok I think.

No one with common sense would purposely send a pigeon if there was a unreasonable possibility of not giving it a chance to perform to it's best ability.

On the other hand if you do not test a pigeon in all kinds of situations you will not eventually get a team which will perform in all circumstances.

A pigeon does not need excessive training tosses if it can be made healthy and fit at home, training does not improve it's homing ability nor anything else.

Regards.

In relation to your first thought above Misty Wink Wink History suggests Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes sadly, many do not have the common sense factor when they send their birds as such for the first time.
2 & 3 thought thou Smile Smile couldn't agree more etc. cheers

Defiantly not they need more training as three 30 mile tosses isn't enough if they get off track say good by to them or they will come back and be out for a couple of Weeks its not the distance its the time on the wing that kills pigeons

See your point Mark Smile Smile. But Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes would depend from my perspective on what type of pigeon you may keep etc I suggest Wink Wink when racing. Certain pigeons have the brain factor built in Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes others no matter what one does with them will never require it etc. National/open type pigeons on average are a different beast I would suggest Smile Smile to the normal corridor/club/ & local Fed type issue & if made of the right metal, being off track on race day is like water off a ducks back type of thing Smile Smile.
